I can't tell you how excited I am to share this amazing Christmas album by Sufjan Stevens. I first heard it three years ago and Christmas wouldn't be the same without it. I adore him and I think he has amazing talent. Please go buy this album, it's a five disk set and you can get it on amazon for $19 which is crazy for all of this music! Here are just a few of the songs from this set that make my heart melt, in a good way.
My new favorite song is "Swimming" by Florence + the Machine. She has a voice like no other and boy is it fun to sing with her in the car. Her voice sounds like it comes from the depths, and she has some seriously awesome lyrics. Please go read about her and listen to her songs at Florence + the Machine. I also love her because she has gorgeous red hair and I'm sure it's ahem...natural just like mine.

Good morning! I love Saturday mornings. I get to sleep in, then move my laziness to the couch and flip on some HGTV for the next couple of hours! So I figured it was a perfect time to post about my new favorite song by Passion Pit called "Moths Wings". Oh I love this song. It's only so often that I run into a song that gives me that fuzzy feeling in my chest, and this is certainly one of them. I really love how this band started. In late 2007, Michael Angelakos (lead vocals/keyboard) had started "Passion Pit" as a project in order to write a few songs for his girlfriend as a Valentine's Day present! How sweet is that?

I found this music site called "lala" and I just had to share it with you. Being a huge music lover myself, this was an exciting site to stumble upon. Here's how it works, you can listen to any album or song once for free. Then, if you would like to add it to your online catalog it's only 10 cents! You can play it as many times as you'd like from your computer, then if you'd like to own the mp3 and download it, it's 79 cents. I kind of like this better than iTunes because I'm not listening to a 30 second clip that might not be the best representation of the song (oh, and the song can play through your iTunes if you have it, bonus!). I can hear the whole song, or even the whole album before I purchase it. It's pretty neat. Oh, AND they give you 25 free songs when you first sign up! Check it out!
This is one of my favorite summertime artists to listen to. Laura Veirs has the prettiest voice and sings songs about mermaids and meteors. It's perfect for listening to at the beach, or while stargazing in the summer night sky. Her lyrics really bring you to a different place, and it's really something you could listen to over and over again and never get tired of it. I really love it. I would reccommend getting her album "Saltbreakers", and then go to the beach and put it on repeat.
I've had butterflies the whole time I've been putting together this post. I just adore Kathleen Edwards . I think if I could be anyone in the whole world, it would be her. She sings the most amazing sounds, she plays the violin, she writes some of the best lyrics I have ever heard, AND she plays hockey! Her "folk rock" sounds can make you sing out loud in the car with all the windows down and her sweet soft sounds can lull a baby to sleep (literally, I've seen it happen). For every mood, she's got a song. I would highly reccommend you get her album "Failer". It's my personal favorite, with one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard called "National Steel". Please go take a listen. The strings in that song will make your heart flutter.
